Barnes Funeral Home on Mar. 9, 2026.Jeff VanBuren, 59, known by all as Mo, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.He was born on April 24, 1966, in Coffeyville to Gary and Carol (Davis) VanBuren. Jeff grew up in the Coffeyville area attended Dearing Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville.On August 29, 2008, he married Mindy Miller. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Coffeyville and Cherryvale area where they raised their children together.With his dedication to his family, his community, and his profession as a Railroad Engineer for SKOL Railroad, Jeff left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered. A man of many passions, he found joy in trap shooting and working with his cows. Jeff was a devoted member of several organizations including the American Legion where he served as the Vice President of S.A.L, Keystone Masonic Lodge 102 A.F. & A.M. in Coffeyville, Mirza Shriners in Pittsburg, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Mirza Provost Guard.He is survived by his devoted wife, Mindy VanBuren, his father, Gary VanBuren, siblings, Melody (Jeff) Braschler and Todd VanBuren. His legacy continues in his stepchildren, Colt (Kylie) Booth, Dakota (Emily) Booth, and Chaneya (Tyler) Julich, and his five beloved grandchildren Jackson (Pup), Emma (Peach), McKynlee (Lucy), Everett (Rooster), and Sam (Sammers). Jeff also leaves behind three nieces Bailey (Quinton), Carley, and Jessie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol VanBuren.Following Jeff's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
