Jeannine Louise "Jeep" Sumner

1936 — 2026

Novi, MI

Jeannine Sumner was the beloved wife of the late Phillip for 71 years and a loving mother to Michael (Tracy), Michele (Tim) Sheldon, Paul (Tara) Sumner, and the late Phillip. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Kyle and Michaela Sumner, Lee and Tim Sheldon, Kaitlyn Sumner, and Adam and Nick Kopasz, and a joyful great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren who brought her immense happiness. She is also survived by her dear sister Patricia Tritsch (Henry) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Known affectionately as “Jeep,” Jeannine was a strong, feisty, and deeply loving woman whose energy and kindness drew people to her. She found great pleasure in tending to her yard, flowers, and lawn, and often began her mornings with a cup of coffee on the patio. Outgoing and warm, she cherished her many long friendships and loved hosting dinner parties and gatherings for family and friends. A longtime active member of Holy Family Church, her faith and sense of community remained an important part of her life.

Her family will remember Jeannine as a woman of strength, warmth, and love who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
