Jeanne Keliher ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 3, 2026.Jeanne Goodman Keliher, 79, of Buford, GA, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard "Richie" Keliher; her sister Gail Wright; and her sister Louise Hupfer.Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Jeanne and Richie spent 54 years there building a life centered on family, hard work, and faith. During that time she worked for 24 years at MGW as an assistant to the Controller, where she was known for her dedication and reliability. Later she moved to Florida, where she lived for 24 years and spent 15 years working as a sales associate at Dillard's, enjoying the friendships she built with coworkers and customers. She spent the final year of her life in Georgia, surrounded by family.Above all else, Jeanne was devoted to her children. She made sure her kids were involved in sports, activities, and faith formation, always encouraging them to participate, grow, and stay grounded in their values. Even on a tight budget, she somehow made sure her family never went without. Back-to-school shopping was always a priority, and she took great pride in making sure her children were prepared and taken care of.Jeanne had a creative and resourceful spirit. Long before "DIY" became popular, she was tackling home improvement projects and sewing clothes and household items herself. She had a knack for figuring things out and making things better with her own hands. Jeanne truly enjoyed going out to a good meal served with a glass of White Zinfandel, followed by kicking her feet up and watching the Hallmark Channel.Family was the center of Jeanne's life. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of staying close, supporting one another, and appreciating the time spent together. She especially cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, Ryan, Thomas, Sean, Emily, Liam, Connor, Brandon, Caitlin, and Kaylee, and took great joy in watching them grow. She also had a strong sense of loyalty in the things she believed in, remaining a long-suffering Democrat and New York Jets fan.Jeanne is survived by her sons, John Keliher (Claudia) of Dacula, GA, and Timothy Keliher (Kathleen) of Hingham, MA; daughter Shannon Lennon (Jim) of Norway, ME; her grandchildren Ryan, Thomas, Sean, Emily, Liam, Connor, Brandon, Caitlin, and Kaylee; sisters Judy Starke of Emerald Isle, NC, and Nancy Foster (Jeff) of Hicksville, NY; brothers Peter Goodman (Gayle) of Salt Point, NY, and Buzzy Goodman of Las Vegas, NV; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Catholic Mass celebrating Jeanne's life will be held at a later date.Jeanne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
