Jeanna Lea Cox, née Baxter, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 59, following a long battle with cancer. She was the devoted mother of Jade (Alex Peiffer) Werner, Chase Cobb, the late Theodore “Eli” Huson, and the late Chastity May Cobb; cherished grandmother of Zowie Werner, Nathaneal Werner, and Ryan Jarvis; and beloved wife of Norman Cox. Jeanna is also survived by many other dear relatives and friends.

Born on December 2, 1966, to Fred Wayne Baxter and Linda Dawson, Jeanna brought joy and love wherever she went. A free-spirited soul with a gentle heart, she dedicated her career to helping others as a certified nurse assistant. Her empathetic nature and nurturing spirit comforted countless people during their times of need.

Jeanna’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and quiet affection. She shared a deep and abiding bond with her siblings, Ronda McKinster and Andrew Bankston, drawing strength and comfort from their lifelong connection. Later in life, she experienced a profound blessing when she discovered her sister Stacey Brock through an AncestryDNA test and embraced her with open arms and full-hearted love.

Raised in Denver, Colorado, Jeanna later made her home in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She lived with openness and grace, instilling in her children and grandchildren the values of intelligence, determination, acceptance, empathy, and compassion. Her legacy of kindness and devotion endures in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
