Jean-Louis G. Gagne

Jean-Louis G. “Jerry” Gagne, 91, of Chicopee, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Pioneer Valley Health & Rehabilitation in South Hadley. Born on February 8, 1935, in Highgate, Vermont, he was the son of Pierre and Beatrice (Laroche) Gagne.

A lifelong communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4044, Jerry spent his working years as a forklift selector for the Sweet Life Foods Company. He was known for his quiet devotion to family and faith, and for the steady, dependable presence he offered those he loved.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pauline (Lefebvre) Hanechak Gagne; his children, Maurice Gagne and his wife Janice of Ludlow, Rachel Ashline of Bristol, Vermont, Jacqueline Depatie and her husband Simon of Highgate, Vermont, and David, Michael, and Brian Hanechak; his siblings Lina Roberge, Rolande Renaud, Cyrille Gagne, and Dianne Laroche; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita (Gagne) Gagne, a son, Denis Gagne, and a sister, Lillian Stenta.
