American Falls, ID
DaVonna Jeanenne “Jeanie” Fehringer, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home next to her family and loving husband of 39 years on Saturday, March 14th, 2026. Jeanie was born in Winfield, Kansas on February 1, 1940 to Bill and LaVone Porter. The family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma when she was a few months old. She spent her childhood there, moving to Independence, Kansas where she graduated from Independence High School in 1958. She was active in athletics playing basketball, softball, swimming, band, and orchestra.
In 1958 she married Pete Wall, who was the father of her 3 children, Peter, Cindy and Jenny. In 1986 she married Ed Fehringer and loved his children, Jacqueline & Chris, as her own.
Jeanie worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, in the Extension Office at Kansas State College of Pittsburg, and in the Power County Courthouse in American Falls for many years. She quit to travel with her husband Ed in 1995. Jeanie was a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing bridge and golf, and loved her winters in Sun Lakes, Arizona on the golf courses with her husband Ed and her many friends. Her garden and flowers were a reflection of the care she gave to everything she loved. She was known for her delicious homemade pies, raspberry jam, relish, and zucchini bread, which she loved sharing with family and friends. She loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren and watching them in dance, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, theater, cheerleading, rodeo, golf, and coaching.
Jeanie is survived by her husband Ed; three children, Peter Wall of Moberly, Missouri; Cindy (Cary) Allred of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Jenny (Jason) Kress of American Falls, Idaho; two stepchildren: Jacqueline Meseroll of Gilbert, Arizona, and Chris (Heather) Fehringer of American Falls, Idaho. She had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with another one on the way. Jeanie is survived by her sister, Rita Taylor of Ponca City, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
