Jeanette Bush Jones, 83, of McKenzie, Tennessee, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on March 9, 1942, in Paris, Tennessee, to Virgil “Flossie” and Myrtle Toombs Bush, she lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and education.
A proud graduate of Bethel College, Jeanette began her teaching career in Cedar Grove before serving 30 distinguished years with the McKenzie Special School District. Her former students honored her by including her in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. A longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, she found deep fulfillment in her faith and her community.
Together with her husband of 64 years, Terry W. Jones, she built Jones Family Investments, a rental business they developed alongside their sons and their families. Later, they created and operated the Carroll County Auction in McKenzie. Jeanette cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, taking great pride in the family they raised together.
She is survived by her husband Terry W. Jones; sons Mike Jones (Renea Streb) of Martin and Kevin Jones (Melissa) of McKenzie; brother Virgil “Billy” Bush (Nancy) of McKenzie; grandchildren Nathan Jones, Ava Jones, Mathew Jones, and Logan Harvey; and great-grandchildren Beckett Jones, Margo Jones, and Briley Harvey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Toombs.
