Jeanene Roy ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Roberts of Ocala East Chapel on Mar. 6, 2026.Jeanene Roy, 70, Ocala, FL (Formerly of Liverpool, NY)Jeanene Roy, aged 70, of Ocala, FL, and formerly of Liverpool, NY, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 28, 2026. She was surrounded by the love of her immediate family at the time of her passing. Born in Munich, Germany, Jeanene was the cherished daughter of Lawrence and Waltraut Patraw.Jeanene is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Vaughn Roy, her daughters Lindsey Pastor and Lacey Roy, as well as her treasured grandchildren Ashlyn, Ianthe, and Amelia. She is also survived by her siblings: Nils Patraw, Jill Tredo (Rodney), and Shelly Patraw. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Waltraut Patraw.Jeanene began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in pediatrics and later worked in private duty nursing. Upon the arrival of her children, she chose to devote herself fully to being a homemaker, a role she embraced with great pride and joy. During these years, she opened her home to several foster children, offering them compassion and care. Jeanene also owned and operated her own cleaning business and served as a nanny for many special families, forming lasting connections with those she cared for.Jeanene was, first and foremost, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She faithfully served as a youth sponsor in her church for several years, finding joy in guiding and encouraging young people in their faith. Jeanene possessed a special gift for hospitality and enjoyed opening her home to others. Through home-cooked meals and warm gatherings, she created a welcoming environment where people could experience genuine fellowship and the love of Jesus, forming meaningful relationships and lasting memories.Jeanene deeply cherished time spent with family and friends, especially the memories made at camp with her beloved camping companions. She also found joy in reading, swimming, and sharing laughter with those around her. A devoted animal lover, Jeanene treasured the many cats and dogs who were part of her life, especially her newest furry companion, Melia.Plans for a memorial service will be shared with family and friends at a later time. The family is deeply grateful to the staff of HCA Florida Hospital and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and support during this time.Jeanene's faith, kindness, laughter, and love for others will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
