June 20, 1934— March 13, 2026
Del City, OK
Jean Williams, 91, of Del City, Oklahoma, was born on June 20, 1934, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to Coleman David Sarrett and Stella Lou Howard Sarrett. She passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Newcastle, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.
From an early age, Jean shared a special bond with her twin sister, June. The two loved to sing together, harmonizing beautifully in church and at school. Their teachers were so impressed that they invited the sisters to perform at their 8th grade graduation. After graduating from Casa Grande Union High School in Arizona in 1952, Jean returned to Oklahoma, where she married the love of her life, George Williams, on December 16, 1953, in the home of Pastor B. T. Neal.
For 72 years, Jean and George built a rich life together filled with gardening, camping, and riding dirt bikes with family and friends. She took great pleasure in canning vegetables and crocheting beautiful doilies. Jean retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1990 after 22 years of dedicated service as an engine parts inspector.
A woman of deep faith, Jean was a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother and best friend to her daughters, and a cherished “Ma” to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, six siblings, and her son-in-law Mike Ramsey. She is survived by her four daughters, Jottie Welchel and husband Tommy, Janette Tedford, Laurie Jackson and husband Terry, and Jo Ella Ramsey Lubbers and husband Lyle; her sister June Akin and husband Glenn of Prescott, Arizona; her brother John Sarrett and wife Marilyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; twelve grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
