Passed March 9, 2026
Countryside, IL
Jean R. (Jeaner) Dolgner, 92, of Countryside, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, from congestive heart failure. Born in Brookfield, Illinois, to Byrl and Marie (Rode) McElwain, she grew up in LaGrange as the youngest of three children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior and Bob.
Jean graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1951. There she met the love of her life, Ray Dolgner, through a mutual friend. They married in 1954 and shared 61 devoted years together until Ray’s passing in 2015. Jean worked as a bookkeeper and purchasing manager before becoming a successful entrepreneur. In 1972, she and Ray became the proud owners of The Mood Bar and Grill, a beloved Countryside landmark.
A woman of deep faith, Jean was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hodgkins. She cherished time with her family and friends, especially pontoon rides at their lake home in Michigan and cheering for the Chicago Bears on Sundays.
Jean is survived by her three children, Dave (Heather), Donna O’Mahoney (John), and Dan (Jodie); five grandchildren, Taylor Pintaro (Nick), Tami Maslanka (Drew), Rachel Sabo (J.C.), Alex, and Alena; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Barrett Pintaro. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the family section at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Hodgkins.
