Jean Marie Lebeda

Jean Marie Lebeda, 82, of Urbandale, passed away on March 7, 2026 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Born on March 30, 1943 in Waverly, Iowa, she was the daughter of James and Elna (Bryhl) Hazlewood.

Jean shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, Joseph R. Lebeda. She is survived by her children, Kari (Douglas) Lebeda Townsend and David Lebeda; her grandchildren, David, Lauren, and Michael Townsend; and her sisters, Judy (Robert) Bierstedt and Joyce (Douglas) Schuler. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan Swede.

Those who knew Jean will remember a woman whose quiet strength and devotion to family defined her life. She remained deeply connected to her loved ones, cherishing her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her presence brought steadiness and warmth to those closest to her, and she will be greatly missed by all who held her dear.
