Jean M. Lehmann

Jean M. Lehmann

Hartland, WI

Jean Marie Lehmann passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Milwaukee on January 8, 1942, to James and Marie Dooley, she lived a life defined by service, creativity, and deep devotion to those she loved.

She shared nearly 65 years of marriage with her husband, Willard. Together they built a home in 1960 on Nagawicka Lake, where they spent countless evenings watching sunsets, fireworks, and sailboat races from their screened-in patio. In her later years, Willard cared for her at home with the same steadfast love and commitment that marked their life together.

Jean was an accomplished quilter whose beautiful work was given generously to family, friends, and those in need. She created bags for breast cancer survivors, quilts for churches, and hundreds of other sewing projects for community organizations. Her commitment to service extended through decades of involvement with the Bark River school board, the Delafield Library board, the Hartland Women’s Club, investment clubs, book clubs, and numerous quilt guilds. She was a regular blood donor for over thirty years, volunteered for the Channel 10 Auction, and prepared meals for Meals on Wheels. In addition to quilting, Jean was a skilled baker who worked at Nashotah Ovens and the Donut Nook in Delafield while also filling her home and community bake sales with her treats. She tended her flower gardens with care and was known for her large collection of Birkenstock sandals, which she wore year-round.

Above all, Jean cherished her role as grandmother to Madyson, Kaitlyn, Marlehna, Elizabeth, Cole, Nola Jean, and August. She rarely missed a game, school event, or recital, cheering them on through every season and weather. Her presence, encouragement, and pride were a constant source of love in their lives. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Marlehna, whom she carried in her heart always.

Jean is survived by her children Laura, Michael (Margo), and Kristine. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her kindness, and the happiness and humor she brought to everyone. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, the quilts she stitched with love, and the family and friends who will forever carry her love with them.
