Jean Trocino ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory - West Orange Chapel on Mar. 7, 2026.Jean Louise (Nicolis) Trocino of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, after a six-day vigil holding the hands of her husband, daughter, and son. She was born on September 6, 1949.Jean was predeceased by her loving parents, Helen and Sam Nicolis. She met the love of her life, Richard, in 1965 and quickly became high school sweethearts. They were married in 1969 and shared more than 56 wonderful years of marriage. Richard was not only her husband but her best friend and soulmate.Jean is survived by her devoted husband Richard; her daughter, Kelly Heady and husband David; and her son, Joel Trocino and his wife Diane and was predeceased by her son Eric, who passed away at birth. She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren-Kevin, Kayla, Hanna, and Joel Jr. -who were the joy of her life. She also cherished her four beloved grand dogs.Jean was the youngest of three sisters and is survived by her sisters Mary and Charlotte, and her brother-in-law Gary and sister-in-law Janice. Family was everything to her. She had so much love for her aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, and nephews and the best of friends.Jean had a song for everything and loved to sing. Her smile and laughter were contagious, and she had a natural way of brightening any room she entered. Thoughtful and kind, she loved people and always looked for the bright side of life. Jean glowed with positivity and never missed an opportunity to compliment someone-even a stranger.She was an enthusiastic sports fan and proudly cheered for "her" New York Yankees and New York Giants. She also enjoyed following many other sports, including NASCAR and college football teams, especially Clemson, Florida State University, the University of Florida, and Coastal Carolina-schools her grandchildren so proudly attend or attended.Jean was a devoted Catholic who carried her faith into every aspect of her life. She held a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and often recited her favorite prayer, The Memorare.Jean will be remembered for her loving heart, joyful spirit, unwavering faith, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. Her love and positivity will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.In lieu of flowers the family encourages mass cards.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
