Preserve forever →Jean L. LaBrack
Dover, NH
Jean L. LaBrack of Dover, New Hampshire, passed into eternal rest on March 14, 2026 at the age of 82 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born and raised in Whitefield, New Hampshire, he graduated from Whitefield High School in 1961 and from the University of New Hampshire in 1965. He taught math and science in the Rollinsford and Rochester schools for six years before beginning a 22-year career at Davidson Rubber Company and its corporate owner, McCord Corporation, where he became a Certified Purchasing Manager. He continued working in purchasing and supply chain management for other area companies until his retirement.
The only child of Leon F. and Flo (Fournier) LaBrack, Jean was predeceased by his parents as well as all his aunts, uncles, and first cousins. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Bonnie (Dufour) LaBrack, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his daughters, Kristin Stearns and Katherine McLean; his granddaughter, Lauren Stearns Hamilton, and her husband, Christopher; his grandsons, Gary Stearns and his wife, Kylee, Brendan Powers, and Kyle Powers; and his great-grandsons, Michael Leon Stearns and George David Stearns.
A 54-year member of Federal Lodge No. 5, F. & A. M. and a 32º Mason, Jean was also a charter member of the Whitefield Historical Society, a longtime member of the Great Bay Stamp Club, and the Dover Senior Center. An amateur genealogist and the unofficial family historian, he compiled an extended family tree connecting more than 28,000 individuals by blood or marriage. He remained an avid golf fan from his days as a caddie at the Mt. View Hotel in Whitefield and played as long as he was physically able. He and Bonnie, both Whitefield High School alumni, cherished attending their annual class reunions. Known for his quick wit, he was always ready with a joke, a tall tale, or a wise crack, firmly believing that humor was the best medicine.
