Gravel, 80, of Plaistow, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Leo and Lucille Gravel. Jean was pre-deceased by his wife Roseanne, of 47 years, in 2012.Jean was born in Saint-Rose, Canada, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. A painter by trade, he worked for Lawrence Mead, JC Construction, and East Pointe. He met the love of his life, Roseanne, in Van Buren, Maine, and together they moved to Lawrence, where they raised four beautiful children.Jean was widely known for his practical jokes and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He always showed up for his family and was a true example of a life well lived.A devoted New England sports fan, Jean loved watching the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox. He enjoyed keeping busy shooting pool, playing cards, golfing, and taking long walks. He also had a great love for the beach, where he could spend hours swimming and enjoying the water.Jean will be remembered for his humor, his dedication to family, and the joy he brought to those around him.He is survived by his four children, Patricia Pelletier and her husband Regis of Plaistow, NH; Roger Gravel of Derry, NH; James Gravel of Hampton Beach, NH and Denise Gravel of Methuen, Ma. Jean had 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and pre-deceased by granddaughter Natalie. He was also survived by his sister Monique and her husband Jean Pierre Malenfant of St. Rose, Canada, his brother Gilles and his wife Lisette of Rimouski, Canada, his brother Georges Gravel of Merrimac, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. He spent many loving years with longtime companion Geraldine Soucy.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00PM-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Monica's Church, 212 Lawrence St, Methuen, on Saturday March 21, 2026 at 10:30AM. Burial will be private.Read The Full Obituary
