Jean Delores Leonard

May 13, 1928 March 10, 2026

Oshkosh, WI

Jean Delores Leonard, age 97, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at her residence with her son by her side on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born in Oshkosh on May 13, 1928, to Jacob and Katherine (Lang) Stahle, Jean married Donald Leonard on June 3, 1950. Together they raised their son, Dean.

Throughout her life, Jean devoted herself to her family and to her work. She spent many years as a homemaker while also contributing at Kresge’s for 17 years and later at Rogan Shoes for 11 years. A longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, she found lasting community there. In her younger years she enjoyed golf and softball, yet her greatest happiness came from her family, especially her grandchildren, Halle and Colin. She cherished caring for them as toddlers and watching them grow into adulthood. Jean took quiet pride in her home, yard, and flower garden, tending them with care and attention. Known for her selflessness, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own.

Jean is survived by her son, Dean (Angie Kampmann) Leonard, her beloved grandchildren, Halle (fiancé Jon Miller) and Colin, and her brother, LeRoy (Patsy) Stahle. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leonard, her siblings Douglas (Vikki) Stahle, Esther (Royce) Parke, Clara (Lawrence) Esser, Betty (Harold) Schertz, Elsie (Robert) Sphatt, and Ruth (Kenneth) Wolf, and her loving nephew, Kurt Wolf.
