Jean Hutchinson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Peterson Chapel – Buffalo on Mar. 4, 2026.April 21, 1939 – March 2, 2026Jean Catherine Hutchinson, age 86, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Parkview Care Center surrounded by her family.She was born on April 21, 1939 in Annandale, the daughter of Anthony and Agnes (Duckart) Dearing.Jean graduated from Annandale High School in 1957.On September 12, 1959, Jean and John "Jack" Hutchinson were united in marriage at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. God blessed their marriage with five children.She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo.Jean enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with her lady friends. While maintaining multiple jobs throughout her life, her favorite was working at Cub Foods. She was known for providing food samples and wearing special holiday hats and headbands; some even referred to her as their Cub Grandma. Jean participated in both the Lioness and Jaycees organizations. She also was fond of golf, bowling, crocheting, needle point, making Christmas candies and spending time with her family.Jean is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years: Jack Hutchinson; children: Ken Hutchinson of Maple Lake, Debora (Charles) Huikko of Maple Lake, Terry (Steven) Berning of St. Michael, Diane (Ed) Trager of Maple Lake and Robert "Bob" (Katherine) Hutchinson of Buffalo; fourteen grandchildren: Mahlon, Dale Jr., Michael, Taylor, Jordyn, Cole, John, Will, Lila, Grace, Ella, James, and Charles; eleven great grandchildren; and sisters: Arlene Tormanen of New Hope and Virginia Marohn of Annandale.Preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Anthony, grandson Anthony Huikko, sisters Phyllis Trewick, Shirley McAlpine, Beverly Paumen and Patricia Nothnagel, brothers-in-law Leonard Nothnagel, Paul McAlpine, Clifford Paumen, George Nothnagel, Daniel Tormanen and James Marohn.A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jean Hutchinson will be held on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Father Austin Barnes will be the Celebrant.A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th at the Church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass.A luncheon at Huikko's Event Center in Buffalo will be held following the Mass for family and friends to gather.Urn bearers will be her two sons Ken and Bob. The honorary urn bearers will be her grandchildren.
