A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A private burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Memorials may be directed to United Way in lieu of flowers.Jean was born February 17, 1943, in Iowa City to Clifford and Inez (Snavely) Koser. She graduated from City High School in 1961 and later attended the University of Iowa. Jean spent more than 20 years with Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric and later worked 13 years at The University of Iowa Foundation. She was a longtime member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. On August 24, 1991, she married Richard Vitosh in Iowa City. Jean was an avid Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She especially cherished time spent supporting her grandchildren in their activities.She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Iowa City; her sons, Scott Walden of Iowa City and Steven Walden of Las Vegas, Nevada, stepdaughter, Tamara Beebe (Tom) of Kansas City, Kansas; Richard's son, Mark (LeAnn) Vitosh of Iowa City, eight grandchildren, Andrea and Adam Walden of Las Vegas, Nevade, Ashley Reuter (Nick) of Windsor, Colorado, Abbey Christians (Elliott) of Johnston, Iowa, Colton (Halia), Collin(Sandra), Camden Beebe of Kansas City, Kansas and Cooper (fiancé BrayLynn) Beebe of Prosper, Texas; four great grandchildren; many extended family members.Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Edward R.
