He is survived by: his parents, Catherine Gomez Shankle and Javier Rangel Sr.; his children, Julissa Rangel, Ava Rangel and Joseph Rangel; his grandson Alessandro Ezio Aguilera Rangel; his brother Jesse Rangel (Michelle); his sibling's children, Jesse Rangel Jr., Jonathan Rangel and Mya Rangel; his cousins, Nicholas Joseph Ramos and Joe Abel Ramos Jr.; and his aunt Rachel Balderas. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Mission Funeral Home - South Side (6204 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78745). A rosary will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at the Assumption Cemetery (3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704).
