Jason Ryan Hughes

Jason Ryan Hughes, 40, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on February 26, 1986, to Steve and Lisa Hughes, he graduated from Brookwood High School, Georgia College & State University, and earned his master’s degree from Georgia State University.

Jason devoted his career to teaching and was known for his deep faith, love of family, passion for education, and commitment to serving his school and community. As North Hall School Director of NG3, he invested his time and heart in the spiritual growth of students and coaches. He found joy in grilling with family and friends, coaching his sons’ teams, serving in his church, building meaningful relationships, and cheering for his students at their games. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his wife and boys.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Laura Hughes; his sons, Luke and Owen; his parents, Steve and Lisa Hughes; his brother, Rick Hughes; his paternal grandmother, Jo Hughes; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Mabry; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jason will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
