Keyes, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2026, while driving on route 7 after an apparent cardiac event. He was 47 years old.Born on June 27, 1978, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the beloved son of Roy and Diana (Millward) Keyes, Jason entered this world after a large crack of thunder, which was a fitting beginning for a man who would grow to live just as boldly, with a presence that could rumble through a room and a spirit that was impossible to ignore. Jason spent his life in the community he cherished. He was a man of many talents, often referred to as a "jack of all trades," and he dedicated much of his career to working as a skilled machinist.Jason was a man of vibrant spirit and boundless enthusiasm, always the life of the party. His presence had an uncanny ability to uplift and bring a sense of warmth and friendliness to any room. He loved his family deeply and was known for his tender heart, particularly with his pets. Whether watching his koi swim gracefully in the pond he meticulously built or enjoying the company of his chickens, Jason found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was so in tune with his animals, one day he realized his favorite Koi fish, Beeper, had jumped from his pond, but unfortunately Beeper could not be saved and Jason was heartbroken. This showed the depth of care he had for even the smallest of God's creaturesAn avid outdoorsman, Jason loved spending time riding dirt bikes; especially with his son, Colton. The roar of the engines and their shared laughter, creating memories that will last forever. He was also a passionate bowler who achieved the remarkable feat of a perfect score on several occasions. Golf was another of Jason's cherished pastimes; one he particularly loved to do with his son, Jason. He loved their time of competition and laughter. Once, he struck a perfect shot- a hole in one. Jason also loved flying model airplanes with Colton. He had a lifelong dream to learn to fly and own his own plane. Never one to sit idle, Jason spent much time in the winter playing video games, and competing with and at times against, his boys, was a favorite pastime. Jason loved his sons and wanted to spend as much time as possible with them both .Jason is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate, Brenda (Johnson) Keyes, whom he married on May 19, 1997. Together, they shared 28 wonderful years of marriage, having been inseparable since the age of 16. He leaves behind his two sons, Jason (Reilly) Keyes, Jr., of Canfield, and Colton (Kaitlyn) Keyes, of Wellsville. He loved his sons with a quiet strength that showed in the way he guided them, protected them, and the pride he showed in the men they became. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Colson and Willow, who brought a special kind of joy to his life . Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Ronald Stewart, Jr., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason is also survived by a strong tribe of friends who shared laughter, stories, and the quiet understanding that only true friendship knows. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Jax.He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ronald and June Stewart, his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Leona Millward, his paternal grandparents, Roy and Phyllis Keyes, and his Uncle Thomas Millward. Certainly Jason was warmly welcomed into heaven by his loyal dog, Tank, and cat, Charlie.A memorial service to celebrate Jason's vibrant life will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 4 PM at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation in Calcutta with Evangelist Jason Cole officiating.
