Jared Keith Dukes

Jared Keith Dukes was born on May 8, 1983, to Keith and Shirley Dukes of Comanche, Texas. He passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 42 at his home in Duster.

After graduating from Comanche High School in 2001, Jared headed to the Texas panhandle to pursue the cowboy life he loved. A cowboy to his core, he spent years working cattle, training horses, and rodeoing at notable ranches, including the Swenson Ranch in Stamford. His family often said he was born in the wrong century, and the stories from his years on the range could entertain for hours.

In 2007, Jared returned to Comanche after surviving a serious car accident. He later became a father to two children, Pepper and Rowdy, to whom he passed down his deep love of horses and hard work. His legacy grew in 2024 with the birth of his grandson, Bentley. Though he could be a tough and sometimes mean man, Jared loved his family fiercely and would fight for them without hesitation.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Shirley; his children, Pepper and Rowdy; grandson Bentley; sisters Sara and her husband Andrew, and Mikayla and her husband Ronnie; and nieces and nephews Lilli, Levi, Jeremy, Duke, Owen, Whitten, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Shorty and Jean, Stanley and Janice, and uncle Larry.
