Janne Postma ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 10, 2026.Janne Eileen Postma passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 82 in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Jack and Anne Wolfe. She resided in Washington, Michigan during the summer, and Zephyrhills, Florida in the winter.Janne was predeceased by her late husband James Jennings, with whom she had 3 children, Deborah (John) Skrzycki, Darcy Jennings, James (Stacey) Jennings. In 1975 she fell in love and married her devoted husband of 50 years, Philip Postma, and gained another son Philip (Marisa) Postma.Janne was a fiercely loving Nana to her grandchildren Haleigh (Joe) Booth, Jack Skrzycki, Carly Skrzycki, Tyler (Monica) Olson, Joseph Jennings, Matthew Jennings, Caleb Postma, Nathaniel Postma. She has two great grandchildren, Braxton and Harper Booth. She is also survived by her dear brother-in-law John Jennings and nieces Robin Jennings and Randi Jennings. She had countless friends who were lucky to have met her.Janne spent her career in the health industry. She received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, New York, and began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree at University of Detroit and a Master's degree from Wayne State University in Health Education. Much of her career was spent at the Macomb County Health Department as the Supervisor of Health Education, where she retired. In retirement, she became an Adjunct Instructor at Wayne State University, teaching health education to undergraduate students. In her spare time, she and Phil embraced their entrepreneurial era and opened their own small business, Action Instaprint.Janne was very talented and crafty and had many hobbies which included quilting, knitting, scrapbooking, and reading. She also loved to golf and travel. She made many keepsake scrapbooks, quilts, and blankets which will forever be cherished by her family. Her passion for traveling took her family to her hometown of Pittsburgh and to Italy to meet family and learn about her roots. Pittsburgh was near and dear to her heart and the family gained additional Pittsburgh Steelers fans in her children and her grandchildren.A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00AM at St. Kieran Catholic Church (53600 Mound Rd., Shelby Twp, Michigan 48316) with visitation beginning at the church at 9:30AM.Donations in Janne's memory may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.Legacy.com reports daily on death announcements in local communities nationwide.
