Janis Marie Hauenstein

Janis Marie Hauenstein, 78, of Aurora, Ohio, passed into eternal life on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Hauenstein, the loving daughter of the late Marie (Nezbeda) and Albert Maschek, and the cherished sister of Michael Maschek (Yolanda), Toni Miller (the late Steve), and Debbie McCarthy (Jim). Jan was a devoted stepmother to Robert, Doug (Terry), Diane (Jonathan), and Dawn, and a proud step-grandmother to Alexandra, Morgan, Jackson, Jessica, Joshua, Jacob, and Mia. She is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, dear friends, and devoted students.

For more than thirty years, Jan was a beloved yoga teacher whose beautiful spirit, gentle soul, and warm presence touched the lives of countless people. She will be remembered for the light she brought into the world and the quiet grace with which she lived.
