Janis Marie "Janny" Biederman-Gibson

Janis Marie Biederman-Gibson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 12, 1947, to Johnnie and Margaret (McNish) Johnson, Janny was the youngest of eight children. She attended grade school in Urne and graduated from Durand High School.

Janny married Paul Biederman in October 1965. They had three children before later divorcing. A devoted homemaker and mother, she later worked as a receptionist at a local insurance agency and became a successful agent with Rural Mutual Insurance. In July 1984, she married William Gibson and became a loving stepmother to his daughters. Together, Janny and Bill shared a passion for buying and renovating homes, a hobby that brought them great joy throughout their 42 years of marriage.

She cherished her family and friends, often sharing warm stories of her childhood and expressing deep gratitude for her many nieces and nephews. Known as a true and loyal friend, Janny was always ready to help anyone who needed her.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Gibson; her children, Beth (Bob) Gruber of Marshfield, Wisconsin, John (Jackie) Biederman and Jason (Tracy) Biederman, both of Plum City, Wisconsin; stepdaughters Heather (Pete) Tornes of Dorr, Michigan, and Heidi (Simon) Welsh of Australia; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sister Marilyn (Jerry) Rud of Mondovi, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law Pauline Johnson of Arcadia, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Willard Mathis, Jerry Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Arleane Erickson, and Glenis Hentges.
