Janis Luke Koike

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janis Luke Koike in Springfield, Virginia, born in Los Angeles, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Dr. Masuo John "Matt" Koike; her parents, Yudell Luke and Laverne Luke; and her sisters, Molly Kaufman and Linda Gurin.

She is survived by: her children, Sara Abiusi (Derek) of Arlington and Michael Koike (Rebecca) of Scarsdale, N. Y.; her grandchildren, Alexandra, Adam, Caroline, Lauren and Zoe; and her sister Debra Singer (Mark) of Olathe, Kan..

A reception will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home (645 W Central Ave, Winter Haven, FL 33880).

In lieu of the flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
