Janie Calhoun Jones

Mrs. Janie Calhoun Jones, age 85, formerly of Raleigh, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Janie lived a full life marked by strong family ties and quiet devotion to those she loved. She is remembered fondly by her three siblings, Lizzie Virgies of Detroit, Michigan, Mary Lee Hale of Selma, Alabama, and Essie Mae Quarles of Palmdale, California. She also leaves behind her niece Linda Robertson, nephew Junnus Clay, her adopted son Donta, and three stepchildren, Cleveland, Paul (Sheila), and Ann.

Her legacy continues through four grandchildren, Chris Copeland (Felicia), Regene Dodoo (Robert), Richana Carpenter (Jack), and Shavonne Jones-Gantt (Okema), and three great-grandchildren, Donte, Ashley, and Jaxson, along with many other relatives and friends who remained close and provided loving care in her later years.
