Janice Ruotolo

1932 — 2026

Ardsley, NY

Janice Ruotolo passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026. Born on August 31, 1932 in the Bronx, New York, to Robert and Mary Ann Cantillo, she graduated from Hunter College with a degree in education and devoted her career to teaching children who needed her most. A lifelong advocate for education and self-improvement, she later earned a Master’s degree from Manhattan College.

Janice met the love of her life, Steve, on a blind date. They married on July 12, 1952 and raised their family in Ardsley, where she taught for her entire career. Artistic by nature, she was an award-winning photographer who also found joy in painting, décor, design, needlepoint, and cooking. She was a generous friend, a thoughtful neighbor, and an enthusiastic world traveler, yet her family remained the center of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve and is survived by her brother Robert, her children Steven (Rita), Riccardo (Alison), and Laura, her grandchildren Steven (Edisel) and Sophia Gardy (Josh), and many adoring nieces and nephews.
