Janice Ray, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on February 6, 1962, she spent her entire life in Savannah, Georgia, where she embraced each day with warmth and enthusiasm.
A proud graduate of South University in Savannah with a degree in business, Janice built a fulfilling career in retail. She was a dedicated employee at Lowe’s, known for her kindness and expertise with both colleagues and customers alike. Her life was filled with joy, laughter, and a deep love for music. A cherished member of Compassion Christian Church, she found great happiness singing in the choir, and her voice and spirit touched everyone who heard her.
Janice was the loving sister of Nell (Loy) Davis, Hugh L. (Mary) Ray, and James Timothy Ray. She was an adored aunt to her nephew Jonathan (Heather) and nieces Faith, Aaron, Paula, Nicole, Heaven, and Savannah. Her great-nephews, Gabriel, Ezra, Noah, and Andrew, brought her immense pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh A. Ray and Naomi Ray.
Janice will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless generosity. She leaves behind family and friends who will hold her memory dear and find comfort in the many heartwarming moments they shared with her.
