Janice Sell ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Mason Funeral Home - Winner on Mar. 6, 2026.Janice Marie Sell, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2026, at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD, surrounded by her family as they played music, visited, and shared cherished memories.A visitation will be held at Mason Funeral Home on Friday, March 13th from 2-3pm with a prayer service beginning at 3pm followed by burial in Ideal.Janice Marie Sell was born on November 2, 1937, to Bill and Arzilla (Lenker) Willms at the Winner Hospital. She attended country grade school and later Winner High School. She went on to marry Vernon Best, and together they welcomed four children: Doug, Tanya, Rex and Darla. Janice and Vernon built their life on the family farm until 1975, when they moved to Witten. There, Janice found a new sense of purpose at Club 44. When it later became The Office, she continued her work and eventually became part owner. It became more than just a business, The Office was a place where neighbors gathered, friendships were formed, and laughter lingered.Janice poured her heart into the meals she prepared, especially her fried chicken, which brought people together for dinners at The Office. Her love for capturing moments through photos filled the bar walls with memories, each picture a reminder of the people and moments she cherished. Decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, brought her joy, and she took great pride in transforming The Office with lights and festive displays for every season. In 1989, Janice married Jim Sell. They married on St. Patrick's day and would have celebrated their 37th anniversary on the 17th. Janice continued to run The Office until her retirement in 2005, after which she settled into life on the Sell ranch. There, she found peace in caring for her home and spending time in the yard tending to her flowers. She loved watching the birds, especially against the backdrop of her favorite color purple found in many of the flowers she planted.Janice treasured time spent with family. Visits filled her heart, and she especially enjoyed riding around the ranch with Jim, taking in the cattle and the land they loved. In her quieter moments, she found comfort in watching westerns, a simple pleasure that stayed with her throughout her life.Janice lived with a deep appreciation for home, family, and the beauty found in everyday moments.Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Arzilla (Lenker) Willms, her sister AnnaBelle Genzlinger, and her brother Wayne Willms. She is survived by her husband, Jim Sell of Presho, her 4 children: Doug(Sherry)Best, Tanya(John)Reaney, Rex(Kendra)Best, Darla(Rick)Beardsley, and her 4 stepchildren: Kathy Sell Mitchell, Julie Sell, Brian Sell, Tom (Jill) Sell.
