Janice Marie Hewitt (née Hammers), a devoted Christian woman whose life was a testament to love, faith, and family, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas. Born on November 22, 1958, Janice’s journey was marked by her warmth, unwavering devotion, and a spirit that touched all who knew her.

Janice graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1977 and dedicated more than 20 years of her professional life to serving as a Trust Associate in the banking industry. Her career was distinguished by her commitment to excellence and her genuine care for others, qualities that mirrored her personal life as a loving wife, mother, sister, and Geema—a beloved figure in her family circle.

Her heart was full with the joy that came from singing with the Renny McLean Ministries and spending cherished moments with family. Janice found immense happiness in cooking for others, sharing not just meals but the love and warmth that defined her character. Her home was a place of comfort, hospitality, and laughter, echoing her generous spirit.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Henry Hewitt, and her dear parents, Donald Edmond Hammers and Letta Corrinne (Scott) Hammers. Their memories remain treasured in the hearts of those who loved her.

She leaves behind her children, Amy Marie Hayes and Dana Yates, along with Dana’s husband, Justin, who will carry forward her legacy of love and dedication. Janice’s family also includes her brothers, Donald E. Hammers and Dale Hammers, along with Dale’s wife, Penny; her sisters, Joyce Hammers, Letta C. Brummett, and Cynthia Moir; and her husband, Michael. The joy of her grandchildren — Billy Yates, Nathan Hayes, and Jesse Hayes — further reflects the light she brought into their lives.

A visitation to honor Janice’s memory will be held on March 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander's Midway Funeral Home, located at 3607 E Hwy 199 in Springtown, Texas. Her funeral service will follow on March 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Legacy Church (formerly Outreach of Love), 3591 East Highway 199, Springtown, Texas, concluding at 2:00 PM.
