Preserve forever →Janice Fay "Jan" Schwarz
March 1, 1953— March 4, 2026
Cocoa Beach, FL
Janice F. Schwarz, née Fuqua, passed away suddenly after a stroke on March 4, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on March 1, 1953, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to the late Frank and Gertrude Fuqua, Jan spent the last eight years of her life in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
In 1980, she married the love of her life, Mario Schwarz, and together they shared 45 years of deep companionship, joy, and shared dreams. Jan worked for many years as a customer service representative for Gainesville Regional Utilities and in a clerical role at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She found great pleasure in gardening, working on puzzles, and taking Caribbean cruises with Mario. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, especially her grandson Jacqson, with whom she shared a special bond.
Jan was predeceased by her parents and six of her seven siblings. She is survived by her brother Ken Fuqua (Linda), her devoted husband Mario, her sons Shane Edgar (Jonee Infante) and Jeremy Edgar (Kayla), her step-daughter Carrie Bacon (Doug), and her beloved grandchildren Jordan Bacon-Graveline (Shaw), Kendall Bacon, and Jacqson Edgar. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in supporting and celebrating their lives.
Jan’s warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. Her memory will remain a lasting source of love and inspiration for all those she leaves behind. As she wished, her ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean.
