Lynn, MA
Janice C. "Jan" Hooper, 82, of Lynn, peacefully passed away on March 14, 2026, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Virginia (Morretti) Serino, and the devoted wife of the late Edward Hooper. Raised and educated in Lynn, Jan worked for many years at GE and Ametek.
Above all, she cherished traveling the world with her husband. Together they explored many places, always looking forward to visits with dear friends in England, as well as cherished trips to Hawaii, California, and their winter stays in Florida. Jan found great joy in time spent with her family, particularly dinners out with her nieces, and she treasured her mornings with her coffee group friends at Burger King.
She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. Jan is survived by her beloved siblings, Barbara Serino and Donald D. Serino; her loving nieces and nephews: Cindy Thorpe, Ruth Clark, John Thorpe, Jim Thorpe, Tina Barney, Dominic Serino, Tim Serino, Donald Serino, Joseph Manzo, Lisa, David, Madison, and Danielle Dougenik and David Manzo; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, Edward Hooper, she was predeceased by her sisters, Louise "Chickie" Thorpe and Virginia "Ginger" Manzo.
