Janice C. Bruce March 7, 2026 Janice C. Bruce, age 83, of Meriden passed away at home on March 7, 2026. For 55 years, she was the loving wife of the late John F. Bruce. Janice was born in Meriden, the daughter of the late Vincent and Beatrice Cavazutti Coughlin. She is survived by her adoring sons, John Bruce and Michael Bruce, her cherished granddaughters, Alex, Gabrielle and Samantha Bruce, and her sister Mary Flannery, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Janice was raised in Wallingford and a proud graduate of UConn. In her professional career, she enjoyed working for the Meriden Board of Education, in various positions. Janice was an avid knitter and her relatives all treasure their sweaters, hats, and socks. She had made over 20 "family Christmas stockings" for her children, her grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Janice took her greatest pride in her retirement years in spending time with her granddaughters. She was always available to pick them up from school and drive them to activities. She spent countless hours with them baking cookies and making cupletts so that they could carry on the family pasta tradition. Janice's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Saturday, March 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Her funeral procession will then leave for Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Interment, in the family plot, will be private.
