Janette A. Imperiale

Janette A. Imperiale, 79, of Roselle, passed away on March 14, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Samuel and Doris (Marquardt) Scardino.

She cherished memories of her childhood in Chicago and family trips to her mother’s childhood home in Greenwood, Wisconsin. In 1968, she moved with her parents to Schaumburg. She married in 1969 and settled in a new home there before later moving to Roselle, where her three daughters grew up in a close-knit neighborhood she considered a true blessing. While raising her family, Janette worked both part-time and full-time, bringing warmth, dedication, and a gift for customer service to every role. Her positive attitude left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

In retirement, she volunteered at the Hanover Township Stars and Stripes Café. She enjoyed Thursday afternoons with a close circle of friends, sharing lunch, conversation, and occasional trips to the slots. She also found pleasure in attending craft fairs, shopping, reading, and decorating for the holidays. In later years, she delighted in buying matching T-shirts for her family and looked forward to Thanksgiving most of all, believing deeply in the many blessings in her life. She loved spoiling her grand pups, yet nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with her grandsons, Dominic and Damen.

Janette possessed a generous spirit and a kind soul. She was a good friend, a beloved sister, and a cherished aunt. She is survived by her daughters, Caterina “Cathy” Imperiale, Dorrie Imperiale, and Joya Morales; grandsons Dominic and Damen; brothers Sam Scardino, Wayne (MaryLou) Scardino, and John (Gabe) Scardino; and sister-in-law Roslyn Scardino. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law JC Morales, and her brother Jim Scardino.
