Janet Rupert Norris

Janet Rupert Norris, age 88, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at her home on March 14, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1937, in Lexington, Massachusetts, the daughter of George and Evellyne (Reilley) Rupert.

A 1955 graduate of Windham High School in Willimantic, Connecticut, Janet went on to earn an associate’s degree. She devoted more than four decades to her career as a medical technologist, serving 21 years at Cox North in Springfield, Missouri, and another 20 years at Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

On December 24, 1956, Janet married Amos Doyle Norris in Ware, Massachusetts. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeff Norris; one sister, Alice Rupert; and three brothers, Charles, Stuart, and Geoff Rupert.

Janet is survived by her sons, Michael Norris of Marionville, Missouri, and David Norris and his wife, Teri, of Battlefield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Brian Norris and his wife, Sarah, Brandon Norris, Zach Norris, Chelsea Wood, Amber Terrill and her husband, Chris, Caleb Norris and his wife, Sarah, and Marshall Davidson and his wife, Leah; three great-grandchildren with two more on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her dedication to her family, and the many lives she touched through her long career in healthcare.
