Janet Rose "West" Doran

Janet Rose Doran, 91, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 5, 1934, in Bergenfield, New Jersey, she was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Heines) West.

After graduating from high school, Janet worked at a bank where she met the love of her life, Frederick J. Doran. The couple married and settled in Hazlet, where they raised their three daughters. A devoted homemaker, Janet centered her life on caring for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, on December 31, 2006.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Doran and her fiancé Rob Garratano, Vickie Doran, and Debbie Goldstein, as well as three grandchildren: Tyler Goldstein and his wife Michelle, Melanie Guiney and her husband Colby, and Steven Goldstein. Janet’s gentle spirit, selfless nature, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She found joy in knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting, and took special pride in making and donating hats to cancer patients. An avid reader, she enjoyed mysteries, comedies, and history, and she held a special affection for her beloved Boston Terrier, Micky. Janet’s unwavering love and support for her family defined her life, and she will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
