JANET RAZLER

JANET RAZLER

Philadelphia, PA

Janet Razler (née Steck), 78, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in 1947 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter and oldest child of Gerald and Edna Steck (née Dobert). A lifelong resident of the Mayfair neighborhood, Janet graduated from Lincoln High School and enjoyed a long career as an executive secretary with Aero Missile Components, Inc., Gap, Inc. Real Estate Division, and Public Financial Management until her retirement in 2016.

Known throughout the Mayfair-Tacony-Holmesburg area as “Mrs. Raz,” Janet was a devoted mother who raised three sons. She served as the longtime block captain of the 4300 block of Teesdale Street and was actively involved with the Mayfair Athletic Club. Those who knew her remember her generous spirit and warm presence in the community. A devoted fan of Aerosmith and Steven Tyler, Janet’s greatest excitement in her final years was the anticipation of becoming a great-grandmother to Violet.

She is survived by her sons Jason (Stacey) and Joseph; her grandchildren Andrew, Alexandra (Joshua), and Madison; her former spouse Joseph F. Razler (Margaret); her sister Carol Marron; her sister Margaret Coombs (Jack); her brother Gerald “Jerry” Steck; her dear friend John Cape; and many nieces, cousins, friends, and her beloved dog Cocoa.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Gerald and Edna Steck, her son Brian Razler, her sister Elizabeth Steck, her brother-in-law Michael Marron, her sister-in-law Deborah Steck, her nephew Michael Marron, and her miniature Doberman Diamond.
