Janet Pauline Mishler, a longtime resident of the Hale and Tawas City areas, passed away peacefully at Hale Creek Manor Assisted Living on March 4, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on May 30, 1948, in West Branch, Michigan, to Frederick and Ila (Rehil) Timlick, Janet grew up in the Hale area and graduated from Hale High School. She possessed a remarkable talent for arts and crafts, creating beautiful handmade gifts and treasures that she sold through her own business, Jan’s Arts & Crafts. Among her greatest joys was painting unique pictures, a passion that reflected her creative spirit and loving heart.
Janet was known for her warm smile and her deep Christian faith, qualities that touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her devoted son, Scott Mishler of Hale; her three brothers, Fred (Chris) Timlick, Mike (Suzy) Timlick, and John Timlick, all of Hale; ten nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Denny Mishler; her brother, Dennis Timlick; and her parents, Frederick and Ila Timlick.
