Janet Mary McGuire

Janet Mary McGuire, 83, of North Merrick, New York, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Dublin, Ohio. She was surrounded by her son Stephen Patrick, daughter-in-law Barbara, and the dedicated caregivers who provided her comfort in her final days.

Born on January 19, 1943, in Rockville Centre, New York, to the late Nicholas and Mary (née McCloy) Glock, Janet grew up with a heart centered on family and faith. She married the love of her life, Stephen Martin McGuire, on December 1, 1961, in North Merrick. Janet dedicated her life to the service of others, with her greatest mission being the lifelong care and advocacy she provided for her youngest son, Keith Edward. Her faith remained her cornerstone; she was a longtime, active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in North Merrick before moving to Ohio to be closer to her family.

Janet is survived by her loving sons, Stephen Patrick McGuire and Keith Edward McGuire; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean (née Kupfer); and her three cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Kristyn, and Karleigh. She also leaves behind her siblings, Geraldine Hoffman, Mary Lou Moreira (Bob), and Brian Glock (Marlan); her dear cousin, Kathleen Marlek; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Martin McGuire, and her parents.
