Born on Monday, January 18, 1960, in Trenton, Michigan, Janet's life was a testament to love, grace, and unwavering dedication.Janet was a devoted wife to her husband, James A. Kokoszka, and a cherished mother to her daughters, Kristen (Andrew) Hayes and Kelly Kokoszka. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Henry and Oliver Hayes, who were the light of her life.Janet was preceded in death by her loving parents, Michael Joseph Champagne and Dorothy Lucille (Erdley) Champagne, whom she held dearly in her heart.It's nearly impossible to condense such a life well- lived into such a brief summary. Janet lived for her family, always saying her favorite thing was to be a mom and grandma. Her husband called her the backbone of the family. The one who remembered extended family birthdays and anniversaries.She was always up for crafting or playing make believe. Her youngest grandson said she had the best imagination. She always had a joke or ten ready when talking with her grandsons. She spread her love of reading with her daughters and grandsons, often reading with them- with different voices of course!Janet was passionate about taking photos of her friends, family, and of her travels. Her love of travel began as a child, which she later shared with her own family. She loved to plan "mystery trips" for her family, it could be a fun day trip or a full trip to Disney that remained a mystery until the day. While she was always eager to explore new places, camping in Ludington was her all time favorite.Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janet's life at a visitation on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Bible Church located at 52260 Washington Street in New Baltimore.
