Janet Diane Bessenbacher

Janet Diane Bessenbacher, 78, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on July 18, 1947, in Fort Pierce, Florida, she remained a lifelong resident of Okeechobee. Janet found joy in life’s simple pleasures, particularly collecting frog figurines and spending time with the animals she cherished so dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles Bessenbacher; her parents, Belle and Oliver; her sisters, Lucille and Aileen; and her brothers, Leroy, Eugene, Earl, Stanford, Jr., Buddy, and Merle.

Janet is survived by her sons, Tommy Bessenbacher, Timothy Bessenbacher (Madonna), and Jason Bessenbacher (Annie); her daughter, Becky Altman, all of Okeechobee; her grandchildren, Lacy Neese (Bobby), Pamela Bessenbacher, Wyatt Bessenbacher, Alyssa Bessenbacher, Sherry Altman, Jason F. Bessenbacher, Eli Bessenbacher, Preston Smith, and Christopher Farless; her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Emery, Zayne, Della, and Grant; her brothers, Marvin Hunter of Fort Pierce, Richard Hunter of Fort Pierce, and Harold Hunter of Lake Placid; her sister, Linda Hunter of Sebastian; and many nieces and nephews.
