Janet Corrine Howell Richardson

Janet Corrine Howell Richardson, age 83, of Ward, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on April 20, 1942, in the Sylvania community near Cabot, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Edgar Howell and Jennnalea Ross Howell. Janet graduated from Cabot High School and Draughon’s Business School. She began her career at National Old Line Insurance Company before marrying James Wallace Patterson Richardson in 1963.

Janet and James shared 56 years of marriage before his passing. In the early years of their life together, the couple lived in Iceland while James served in the United States Air Force, before returning to Arkansas. Janet spent much of her life working alongside her husband in his CPA business in Cabot. She found great joy in traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years, James Wallace Patterson Richardson. Janet is survived by her two sisters, Doris Faye Howell and Kathy Ann Howell, and her beloved beagle, Buddy. In her final six years, she was lovingly cared for by Tracy Norman, who remained faithfully by her side as both a devoted caregiver and dear friend.
