Janet B. Shriner, 83, of Ellsworth, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the Washington Hospital after a recent battle with illness. She was born at home, a twin, August 8, 1942 in Ellsworth, a daughter of the late George and Ethel Bosley Lucy. She graduated from the Ellsworth High School and later became a Certified Nursing Assistant employed by the Area Aging Services from where she retired after many years. A woman of strong faith, she was a life-long member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, winning at dice games and completing her daily Wordle. Going shopping and out to eat was always something she looked forward to doing. Surviving are two children, Lisa Petronka (Greg) of Bentleyville, and Jay Marinkovich of Madison Heights, Mich.; grandchildren, Joanie Danner (Brian), Mitch Matiyasic (Jill), Erin Marinkovich, Kelli Hopkins (Kristin), and Todd Matiyasic (Ashley); eight great-grandchildren, Charles, Tate, Jackson, Bennett, Emmalin, Logan, Mila and Zaria; brother, Joe Lucy (Rhonda); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Janet in death were her husband Joseph Shriner; her daughter, Maryann Huff; grandson, Jacob Marinkovich, who died in infancy. She was also preceded by 10 other siblings including her identical twin sister, Joanie Weatherford, who waited for her on the moon. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, with Pastor Jim Kimmel officiating.
