Valente, 78 of Proctor passed away peacefully on Friday March 6, 2026,surrounded by her loved ones.She was born on Sept 19, 1947 in Proctor the daughter of John Joseph and Mary (Cijka) Mazut.She grew up in Proctor with her partner in crime, sister Patricia, by her side. Jane had a greatlove for her Polish Heritage and would later pass that love along to her three daughters and hergrandchildren. She was a fantastic cook and taught them all how to make pierogi and Golabki(stuffed cabbage.)Jane graduated from Proctor High School with the class of 1965. From there she went right intothe banking business by joining The Rutland Savings Bank as a Teller. Over the next 40 years,she saw many changes at the bank and before retiring, grew in her career becoming a loanofficer and a branch manager. She was always a professional and very well respected. Aftershe retired from the bank, she enjoyed working at the family restaurant, The Midway Diner; sheloved interacting with all of the customers.In 1966, Jane married her high school sweetheart, John Valente, and they spent the next 48years building a wonderful family and life together. They resided in Proctor and raised threedaughters; Nicolette, Lisa and Maribeth. Together, they provided their children with solidguidance, unwavering support and love and a lot of laughs, so many laughs! They enjoyedtraveling, golfing, dancing and spending time with family and friends. Jane also enjoyedshopping and crocheting.Jane was a member of St. Dominic's Church in Proctor and the Catholic Daughters. Her faithwas very important to her, especially later in life.Survivors include 3 daughters Nicolette Lanphere and her husband Steven of Proctor, LisaBlanchard and her husband Raymond of Middletown Springs, and Maribeth Valente of Proctor,a sister Patricia Mazut of Virginia Beach, VA, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and severalnieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband John J Valente on March 19, 2014.Jane's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Rutland Regional Medical Center.Their compassionate team guided and supported both Jane and her family through the endstage of Jane's life, allowing grace and dignity through the final moment.There will be a private burial at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery in Proctor.Arrangements are with the Aldous Funeral Home.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
