Jane Hielscher ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Brenham Memorial Chapel on Mar. 5, 2026.Jane Long Hielscher, 82, of Brenham passed away March 3, 2026.Jane was born to Gary and Sarah (Fuqua) Long in Huntsville, Texas on October 2, 1943. Jane grew up in Shiro, Texas, where she and her twin sister were raised by her mother and her grandmother, Fannie Davis Fuqua. Jane was a 1962 graduate from Navasota High School. She worked at the Brenham State Supported Living Center for a number of years. Jane married William Hielscher on December 17, 1996, and together they were blessed with 29 years of marriage.Jane never met a stranger. She had a natural curiosity for people, and she loved to delve into life stories to make connections and learn about everyone's family and friends. She had a photographic memory for birthdays and anniversaries, and she never missed an opportunity to send a birthday or holiday card to her family members that always brightened our days. Her genial nature and loving character will be truly missed. Jane's other passion was her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a loyal and steadfast member of the First Baptist Church in Brenham. Her church family was of upmost importance, and she was a fixture in Sunday worship and weekday Bible studies and Precepts classes. Each morning started with a cup of coffee and an hour spent reading her Bible, and every conversation with her son revolved around her week at the Church. As Jane's sister so succinctly put it: "She lived it".Left to cherish Jane's memories are husband William Hielscher; son Troy and wife Lane Garner; stepson William R. Hielscher; grandchildren Margaret (Ella) Garner and Miller Garner; twin sister June Avery; and nephews Brian Avery and David Avery.A visitation with family present will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.A Funeral for Jane will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 am at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Troy Sikes officiating.
