Devoted mother of James Alessi (Nancy Ebaugh Alessi) and Kimberly Alessi (Jason Taitt). Loving grandmother of Philip Spuler (Brian), Nicholas Spuler (Jayne), Kaylen Alessi, Aria Braender, Robert Ebaugh, Megan Monaghan and Charlie Monaghan. Loving great grandmother of Rose Spuler.Jane "Janina" Urbankiak was born on January 1, 1946, in Germany. Her Polish family sought to rebuild their lives in America after surviving the hardships of World War II. Her father and grandfather both served in the Polish Army. Eventually, the family settled in Camden, New Jersey. Her father, Walter, worked as a local carpenter, while her mother, Hedwig, was a homemaker and neighborhood seamstress who helped many in the community.Jane graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Camden and soon after married her devoted first husband, James Alessi. Together they built a life and raised two children, James and Kimberly. As a dedicated homemaker, Jane created a warm and welcoming home for her family-one filled with laughter, gatherings, and always plenty of delicious food. Her home was a place where people felt comfortable, cared for, and loved.Jane became a grandmother at a young age and played a deeply important role in the lives of her grandchildren. She helped raise them and spent countless meaningful moments with them throughout their childhood. Her grandchildren were truly at the center of her life. She hosted sleepovers, taught them how to cook and bake, played games, and made crafts with them-always making sure they felt her love and attention.Jane also had a special gift as a family archivist. She was always taking photos and videos at family gatherings, making sure the memories of those moments would be preserved for years to come. She loved antiques, searching through yard sales for hidden treasures, and she enjoyed singing karaoke. Her faith was also very important to her. Jane served as a Eucharistic Minister and was always dedicated to helping her church community. She often did the quiet, meaningful acts of kindness that many people never see-visiting the elderly in retirement communities or collecting stuffed animals to give to children during the holiday season. Jane was the kind of person who would buy a small gift for a friend or loved one simply because she thought it might brighten their day.Later in her life, Jane met Adrienne Hazelton and married for a second time. While now deceased, Adrienne and Jane enjoyed many years together. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her children, James and Kimberly; and her cherished grandchildren and great-granddaughter.Her family will always remember the many moments they shared together-the lessons, the challenges, and the love that held them close. Above all, they will remember Jane's strength, her strong will, and her perseverance through life's many trials.Funeral Services are private at the request of the family. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jane Alessi-Hazelton, please visit our floral store. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
