"Nan" Bishop, 77, of Peoria Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.She was born September 5, 1948 in Peoria, a daughter to Paul and Jean (Carlson) Wessel. After high school she attended the University of Illinois, where she earned her bachelor's degree. On December 18, 1971 she married William "Bill" Bishop in Peoria and together they would cherish 54 years.Nan lived life with enthusiasm and warmth, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to know her. She was a fun-loving person who deeply enjoyed life and cherished the time she spent with family and friends. Nan had an infectious spirit that drew people to her, and her genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome in her presence.She loved socializing and connecting with others, and some of her happiest moments were spent sharing laughter and stories with the people she cared about. Nan also had a passion for adventure and the outdoors. She enjoyed skiing, boating, and snowmobiling-activities that reflected her energetic personality and love of life.Those who knew Nan will remember her for her vibrant personality, her love of fun, and the special way she made people feel valued and included. Her spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.Survivors include her husband Bill of Peoria Heights, one sister Jody Dykema of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.Nan was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Paul Jr. "Buzz".Cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.Preferred memorials in Nan's memory may be made to St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate.Friends and family are encouraged to log onto www.wrightandsalmon.comto sign the online guestbook, submit photos and share Nan's memorial page via social media.Cremation arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Wright & Salmon Mortuary.
