Jana Lynn Tudor

Jana Lynn Tudor, 68, of Madison, West Virginia, passed away suddenly at CAMC Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on January 1, 1958, to the late Phyllis and Maxel Tudor, Jana grew up in the Madison area and graduated from Scott High School in 1976. A talented drummer in the Scott High School Marching Band, she also excelled in tennis. She later earned an associate degree in nursing from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in 1988 and devoted 38 years to her career as a registered nurse.

Beyond her professional life, Jana’s deepest passion was caring for feral cats in the Madison and Danville communities. She tirelessly rescued and fed stray cats that others had overlooked, offering them compassion and consistent care throughout her life. She found simple joy in watching movies, taking beach trips, and shopping.

Jana was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gina Tudor and Lisa Pratt, and her cousin Jimmy “Jumbo” Cook. She is survived by her brother, Chris (Terri) Tudor of Madison, West Virginia; nieces Hayley Tudor of Madison and Nicole (Mike) Becker of Corydon, Iowa; nephew Shawn (Angie) Pratt of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, including Fran Ganda, Jeanie Sanders, and David Cook. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, her “chosen” sister Jeanne Plants Southern, whose bond of love, loyalty, and devotion meant the world to Jana and her family.

In keeping with Jana’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to BARC in her memory to support the continued care of stray cats in the community she loved.
