James Wells

James Wells

October 31, 1954 March 14, 2026

Cleveland, UT

James E. Wells was born on October 31, 1954, and passed away peacefully at his home in Cleveland, Utah, surrounded by family on March 14, 2026.

After graduating, James served in the United States Army. He then began his career as a journeyman electrician and later retired from Caterpillar, where he served as shop superintendent. He took great pride in the log home he built with his wife Debbie, completing it in 2000.

James loved playing acoustic and bass guitar and, in his younger years, performed in the local band Home Grown. After retiring in 2016, he embraced the good life, spending his time playing golf, riding his Harley, working on the farm, and tinkering in his shop. He cherished camping trips with family and traveling to Arizona in their RV each winter. Those who knew him recognized his tremendous work ethic, his playful spirit as a prankster, and his deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Above all, he treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his loyal dog, Rusty.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Wells; children Bob (Jenny) Nichols of Price, Utah, and Nikki (Ryan) Zimmerman of Saratoga Springs, Utah; stepchildren Deana Tallerico of Cleveland, Utah, and Dustin (Libby) Tallerico of South Jordan, Utah; and 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Vernice Wells, and his sister, Larna Jensen.
